This V8 Race Experience gives you the opportunity to drive or do Hot Laps in a V8 Holden or V8 Ford on Melbourne’s Premier Sandown Raceway, only about 45 min from the CBD…..

Before taking your seat in the V8 race car, you’ll be joining our drivers briefing for instruction on driving techniques in these V8 race cars, correct racing lines, cornering techniques, the circuit layout and safety. From there you’ll be taken to the pits to collect your race suit, and helmet.

All the V8 cars have been race-converted and are prepared with roll cages, safety harnesses, race seats and slick tyres. They have been completely race modified to maximise performance and safety and are not governed in Revs or Speed so you can drive at your own pace safely.

Over taking is permitted at the instruction of your in car coach allowing you to get the most out of this exhilarating experience

Q: Is there a height and weight restriction?
A: There is a height restriction of approximately 6.7” and also a weight restriction of 135kg

Q: Can friends and family come down and watch the drive?
A: Spectators are more than welcome to come and share in this great experience. 

Q: Can you get DVD’s and/or Photos of the drive?
A: If you choose to drive you can purchase an in-car DVD of the drive for $49 on the day, or whether you choose to drive or be driven you can also get a framed 2 photo “super souvenir” also for $49 on the day . 

Q: Are the cars automatic or Manual?
A: The majority of the cars are manual but automatic cars are also available. 

Q: Do you need a full driver’s license to participate?
A: No, to be able to drive as long as you hold your ‘P’ plates or equivalent that is fine. International Drivers licenses can also be used so long as they are recognised in Australia – please enquire if you are unsure. 

Q: If my license is suspended can I still drive?
A: You can, however you must bring proof you have held your license on the day of your booking. A simple letter from the local Automobile body should suffice. 

Q: Can you do both driving and being driven?
A: With this package you can do one or the other. A great option is to also book a hot laps package which can be done on the same day as your drive, you can add the hotlaps to your purchase by clicking on the options on the right hand side of this page 

Q: Can you book weekend dates?
A: Yes weekends at Sandown Raceway are available for you to making a booking.

Duration:

Best to allow two and a half hours for the entire experience. Driving time is Eight laps (approx. 24 km's) of the race circuit at your own speed.

Dress Code:

You will be supplied with a race suit and helmet, therefore normal street attire is suitable. Closed shoes are required

PLEASE NOTE: Please choose your booking date carefully as any change incurs a $45 administration fee. Changes within 7 days may not be possible

Weight limit of 135 Kg

You will potentially be travelling at high speeds in a race car which is a physical challenge and may place you under G forces far more significant than a road car can generate, within this environment you may be shaken within your seat.

Family and Friends are welcome as spectators on the day.

DVD’s or a framed 2 photo “Super Souvenir” can be purchased on the day for $49 each.

Automatic and Manual Cars available

At least 'P' Plates are required to drive on the day, and you need to be at least 18 years of age to be able to drive the car.

You can either drive OR be driven with this experience.
