Hot Air Balloon Proposal, Hunter Valley - NSW

Rise with the birds and enjoy a pre-dawn hot air balloon ride over the heart of the Hunter Valley. Then it’s to breakfast where a delicious champagne breakfast awaits you . . .

We meet you approximately one hour before dawn.

After a cup of tea or coffee and a pre-flight briefing, you’ll be transported to the chosen launch site for the day. This can be anywhere in the valley depending on the prevailing winds, which makes for a little mystery as you could be flying over hills, rivers, forests, vineyards, or farmland.

What better backdrop could you wish for as you prepare to deliver one of the most important lines in your life..?

From the hot air balloon you’ll be privileged to the spectacular sights of the sun as it starts to slowly rise above the horizon, breathing warm life into a fresh new day. The views are breathtaking and you’ll begin to appreciate just how vast the valley is once aloft. Now that you’re both awe struck by the views it may be a great opportunity to deliver a unique proposal . . .

Options:
FreemanX also offers the option of delivering your proposal on your behalf via a Banner in tow from an aircraft or via sky writing. From the distance we can prearrange for your proposal message to be towed right by the balloon as you float by, alternatively we can arrange it to be written in the sky to be seen for miles around.

After the exhilaration of floating effortlessly above this beautiful scenic treasure, you’ll be treated to a sumptuous fully catered champagne breakfast at a local restaurant. This is the perfect place to make a toast to the happily engaged couple.

Duration:

Our meeting time varies according to the season but generally 30 minutes before sunrise. Please allow 3 hours for this experience. Your flight will last 45-60 minutes depending on the wind speed and direction of the day. The landing is at the pilot's discretion and safety is our first concern.

Dress Code:

It gets pretty chilly up there so dress warmly, and wear flat comfortable shoes. Don’t forget the camera!

Our hot air balloon company is Australia's oldest and most experienced balloon company, having started their operations in the Hunter Valley in 1980.

Banner Tow – We use the Gasser banner 7’ system of interlocking red letters for banner tows. They are assembled and towed behind a most powerful aeroplane, usually at an altitude of 500 feet above the surf of the Sydney beaches, are highly visible and spectacular. The sound of an aeroplane at such a low altitude attracts the attention of everyone along the extensive waterfront. If you choose a banner tow, your can be up to 35 characters including spaces.

Sky Writing - For skywriting we create letters one kilometer high at altitudes of 15 – 20,000 feet above the ground. The viewing area is enormous and covers a major portion of the valley area. Skywriting is not limited to script and may include logo or line drawing in a simple manner. It is fairly adaptable to given situations and is dependent only on fair weather. It covers the widest area of public vision and demographic studies have shown a potentially enormous audience on any given day. For skywriting your message can be up to 15 characters.
